Wiew of Earth from the International Space Station...with help from the Russian Soyuz capsules docked and servicing our mission.

Why do we dream of space travel?  Man has a nature to boldly go.  Even the ancient faiths record a view that God acknowledges our potential to grow:

And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.  And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.  And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.  Genesis 11:4-6

We seek to make a name for ourselves, and heaven seeks to hold us back until we are ready.  Yet this view also acknowledges that God gave us the desire, and he desires to give us his way to make a name for us.  Here are some reports on where the reach for our dreams is taking us today.

Amateurs in rocketry and video producers have created these adventures and seek to go beyond these visions.  These are our roots, but our hopes soar beyond our imagination.  This group has demonstrated what we can do with education and technology.

If you want the full length rush this is a longer video:

Now a differen video that connects our great nights skies and western scenery.

Do you still wonder why we dream of space?  We are already on a different planet after we rediscover the wonders of the creation around us now!

We don’t have to make a name for ourseves if we trust and believe.  We are hard wired with a new name and a new destiny.  Our feet are on earth, but we are already seated in heavenly places.  Man is not equal to the angels but his destiny is beyond the ends of the universe.

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?  For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.  Psalm 8:3-5
