CAPTAIN’S LOG ENTRY EARTH DATE 2300 HRS 19 APRIL 2012

April 20, 2012

Micro-Hauler is under way and pulling a mighty load.

12 hours into a 6 hour drive I realize that Mapquest wasn’t written with RVs in mind.  Nor are gas stations well positioned for towing vehicles.  I ran out of gas…twice between stations in the vast desert.  Fortunately I brought my own gas station with me.

NO GAS STATION?   UN-HOOK   AND FILL ‘ER UP…if you tow a toy hauler!

WE SET UP IN THE DARK IN VIOLENT WIND GUSTS…MORNING AFTER WRECKAGE

MAJOR INDUSTRY: WIND! (SEE MILLS ALONG MOUNTAIN IN BACKGROUND)

WHAT’S OUT MY BACK DOOR?  SPACEPORT!

AND FAMILIAR (STRANGE) BIRDS

AND EVEN STRANGER SMOKE TRAILS…

Hmmm;  wouldn’t Proteus be a neat platform for early testing of scaled air launch models? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2131660/Countdown-begins-tests-Paul-Allens-space-rocket-launching-plane.html

I did quit playing long enough to set up, connect the web, cook meals, and contact the parties in the coming day’s activities.  Big news coming in the next week!
