CAPTAIN’S LOG ENTRY EARTH DATE 1930 HRS 21 APRIL 2012

April 21, 2012

Whew!   Big Day!

I went to the “Plane Crazy” air show, applied for employment at Scaled Composites, and met the Makerspace team.  Then I went to the Friends of Amateur Rocketry (FAR) test site.  Bill Colburn didn’t arrive until evening, but others were testing on site.  Paul Breed was recovering his stabilized rocket test that I saw at Space Access 2012.  I missed all the flights but everyone got their rockets back in one piece.  A static test was being prepared and evaluated during my stay.  I will meet Bill out there again tomorrow for more fun in the desert sun.  The Makerspace is my best opportunity to spend winters in a warm place with potential for talentd volunteer help.  A month to month fee allows me to participate with no long term commitment.  Few places offer aerodynamic and propulsion talent like this.
