TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES

I spent two days at the FAR site filming Bill Colburn’s rocket tests, but my images got deleted accidentally.  I may get them restored from a team member’s computer in a month or so.  I took in a lot of smoke and noise and learned more about the propulsion side of this project.  It was all pretty typical of experimental work, with some success and some anomalies.  Data will be reviewed when the team is in their shop, and better ideas will evolve.

I spent the night alone on the site as a sentry, and enjoyed the most comfortable side of life in the Mojave.  As in Arizona, the sunsets are spectacular and the star viewing was even more so.  I slept on a cot on top of a bunker and took the glorious creation all in.  There was a little meteor activity but no coyotes for dog to bark at.  I was singing my favorite worship songs, so perhaps they chose to let me have the concert that night.

Azalea the dog is good company and a friend to all.  But she is not a space dog, as she is a little rocket shy.  When the big rockets fired, she ran to hide in my truck.  She doesn’t like the way I light the barbeque, and these guys really know how to start a fire.

Mojave California has assets for propulsion and aerodynamic talent as well.  The evidence is strong for their future in new space development.  Their enemy may be in Sacramento as taxes do not help the incorporation process.  The rest of my stay will be repairing the anomalies on my own near space transportation.  The trailer has shaken down a few parts on the road now.
