PIONEER DAYS:  NEW FRONTIER MEETS THE OLD

I left Wheatland Wyoming as a forest fire was starting near Laramie Peak.  News reports indicate 70% containment with no damage to the campgrounds or Laramie Peak trail.  Actually fires rage all over the USA in various sizes.  Watch those open flames!

My path took me east on the old Oregon trail.  We still have Fort Laramie and many marks of the passing wagon trains.  The wheels left ruts in granite, and the people carved their names in the chalk cliffs.  My pioneer journey into new space ventures seemed to fit right in.

I visited my uncle in Nebraska and visited dad’s grave.  The work was not done to engrave his stone, and I got the party engaged on fixing the problem.  I got work done on my vehicle, and moved on to Kansas.
