CAPTAIN’S LOG ENTRY EARTH DATE 31 JAN 2013

KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!

We started building a simple trailer kit.   But then it is designed to take a floor and stake sides, so we did it.  With a couple of sheets of plywood and some two by fours we have a light box.  Then it seemed like a wood cover would be better than a canvas, and the edges needed the weather protection of aluminum trim.  Well, we might as well add weather strips and a rubber seal over the hinged front edge.  Oh, we will need the optional tool box too.  Hey, this thing is heavy enough to need a jack and wheel on the tongue.  This is great, but this wood needs to be painted or it will de-laminate in the rain.  I may have a $2,000 trailer before I’m done!  It is a folding trailer, but it will take a little time to get it all flat again!  This project is running well to keep my cargo on the road home.  It may seem to be a lot of effort for a light cargo trailer.
